The artificial pond, arranged since 1880, was from the very beginning an important meeting point for the townspeople, it was intended for boating in the summer months and ice skating in the winter months.

At around five km², Tivoli Park is the largest park in Ljubljana, the capital of Slovenia. It is located on the western edge of the Center district and extends into the districts of Šiška in the north, Vič in the south and Rožnik in the west.
