Hermitage with fantastic views over Montemor castle and village.
The chapel, or Santuario de Nossa Senhora da Visitação, was built in the 16th century in the Moorish Manueline style in the historic town of Montemor-o-Novo, in the Alentejo region, Portugal.
This beautiful church has beautiful tile panels from the 18th century inside, alluding to the life of the Virgin Mary and in the sacristy there is a collection made up of more than 200 ex-votos, altarpieces, photographs, wax objects and two embalmed animals, one of the which dates from the year 1799.
