The "Anjo da Praça da Assicom" monument is the highlight.
The fallen angel represents all those who died building and maintaining Madeira's roads, who dug tunnels through the mountains, who quickly cleared rockfalls and thus roadblocks, and who carried out other road construction work.
The monument represents respect and recognition for a profession that is taken for granted and only complained about when something takes a little longer.
