Canadice Lake is one of New York's eleven scenic Finger Lakes, nestled in Ontario County in the western part of the state. As the smallest and highest in elevation among the Finger Lakes, it sits at an elevation of 334 meters (1,096 feet) and is a vital water source for the city of Rochester. Its name, derived from the Iroquois word "ska-ne-a-dice," means "long lake," aptly describing its tranquil, elongated form within the Genesee River watershed.
