The Salcantay Pass is 4650 m above sea level. M. and is surrounded by the spectacular glaciers of Humantay (5917 m.a.s.l.) and Mount Salkantay, which at 6270 m is the highest peak in the region. The Slacantay is the second highest mountain in Peru and means "wild mountain".
