In 1496 a new church was completed in Borsov nad Vltavou, replacing the original, already unsatisfactory wooden church. It was dedicated to St. James the Elder. This happened at a time when Borsov belonged to the Rosenberg chief scribe Mikulác of Pelhimov, who was therefore probably his financier. The builder was Linhart of Altenberque. The rectangular priesthood with Gothic windows in the southeast has been very well preserved, but the vault of the church naves collapsed and was replaced by a straight ceiling in 1703.
