At Ingenhammshof, visitors experience the contrast that shaped the founding history of the Ruhr region: the original rural cultural landscape and the monuments of industrialization. It's also a popular destination for families and children. Children can observe the animals in their outdoor enclosures. Horses, cattle, geese, chickens, and goats are rare sights in Duisburg.

However, as a food supplier for the steelworks, the farm was able to secure a permanent place on the Thyssen company site. The oldest documented mention of the Ingenhammshof farm dates back to 1603. Today, the old farm is a center of environmental education.
