The historic centre of Valdilecha is in the upper part of the town, nestled in the valley floor, around the Town Hall Square, which has a beautiful stone fountain with a basin and facades of popular architecture. Nearby is the parish church of San Martín Obispo, with Mudejar remains from the 13th century. Philip II granted the town the title of villa and for four centuries it was subject to the regime of lordship. The population is mainly devoted to the cultivation of vineyards, cereals and olive groves.
