The stately church of Bøstrup was originally built around 1200. The oldest parts are the nave, whose small Romanesque windows can be seen in the north wall, and the western part of the chancel, to which an apse was probably added. At that time, the church had a flat beamed ceiling and neither a porch nor a tower.
