Vandring
Since the church of Rübeland is located on the other side of the village, this bell house was built to reach the people on this side of the village. While in the past every day someone had to run up and the bell had to ring, this now works by radio. The bell house is one of the few in the region. There is another in Neuwerk. (Thanks to the nice guide of the Baumannshöhle for the explanation)

Vandring
The ruins of Birkenfeld Castle stand on a cliff on the eastern slope. From the bell house on the northeast slope of the Bielstein you have a beautiful view of the cave site.
