Cykling på elcykel
This route connects the various spa districts of Cuxhaven and is ideal for those who enjoy a leisurely pace.
Route: You start at the harbor near the Alte Liebe (Old Love) pier, cycle along the Grimmershörn Bay to the Kugelbake (a landmark navigational beacon), and continue along the beach promenades of Döse and Duhnen to Sahlenburg.

If you want to escape the wind on the dike, the areas inland offer great alternatives:
Cuxhaven Coastal Heaths: A vast nature reserve with well-maintained paths. Here, with a bit of luck, you can observe wild horses (Koniks) or Heck cattle. The Duhner Heide visitor platform is a great starting point.
Wernerwald: Unique on the North Sea coast is this forest, which extends right to the Wadden Sea. A shady cycle path leads you from Sahlenburg towards Holte-Spangen.

Cuxhaven is a major hub for long-distance cyclists:
Elbe Cycle Route: From here, it leads upstream towards Hamburg and on to the Czech Republic.
Weser Cycle Route: It takes you downstream towards Bremerhaven and Bremen.
North Sea Cycle Route: Cuxhaven is part of this gigantic route that circumnavigates the North Sea.
