The church of Santa Croce is located on the square of the same name and is also known as the "Pantheon of Florence". It dates back to the 13th century and is one of the most important Franciscan churches in Italy. The church contains numerous masterpieces by Italian painters of the 14th century. It is definitely worth a look.

Very beautiful church - clearly one of the top 5 highlights of Florence. You have to buy tickets - and then you should plan 2-4 hours to be able to look at everything in peace.
The church is huge inside, with many important tombs. There are also various extensions, an entire monastery, and also cellars worth seeing.
The inside is much more beautiful and elaborate than the large cathedral!!!, in my opinion 👍
