Initiator: Jan VI Turzo, Lord of Pszczyna.
Purpose: To protect the buildings and residents of Bieruń from the rising waters of the Great Bieruń Pond.
Construction time: 1530s and 1540s.
Dimensions:
Length: almost 3 km.
Height: 5 meters.
Width: 18 meters.
Construction technology:
The ground was cleared of wood.
The sides were reinforced with wicker and turf.
Drainage and irrigation mechanisms were installed ("towers," "monks," "cages," and "bee dens").

Cykling
Historic Site Status: The Rampart is considered a monument of earthworks engineering and the second historic monument in Bieruń, after the Mound.
Current Status: It was drained around 1825. In the last century, it was divided for road construction.
Reconstruction and Development: In 2006, a footbridge was built to connect the divided rampart and complement its appearance. Currently, there is an educational trail on the Causeway, reminding us of its history.
