The church of Bjørnskinn is located in a bend on the Fv974 / Bjørnskinnsveien, so - coming from the (north) west - it appears that the road comes straight to it.
It is about a white wooden church, built in 1885 in a long church style by the architect Johan Kunig. The church can accommodate approximately 250 people.
It stands on the site of an earlier church (from the 16th century) that was destroyed by an avalanche in 1740. The church that was placed afterwards needed to be replaced in 1885.
