No entrance fee is charged.
The monastic ensemble was built of wood, according to the local tradition, under the direction of the architect Cordos Dorel.
It consists of:
- specific Maramurean gate
- the tower with the bell tower
- The church (with a height of 57 m)
- the summer altar
- the monks' cells
- chapel (built on several levels)
- the house of foremen
- the house (workshop) of the artists
Recently the Museum was built inside the monastery.

This monastery is incredible. Between the typical wooden buildings of Maramureș, the care taken, the flowers, a visit to the Bârsana Monastery is an unforgettable moment.
