The Bundeswehr airfield was closed many years ago. Ideas to build a cargo airport there were rejected and today it is a nature reserve. In 2018, part of the site served as the backdrop for the film Starfighter - They wanted to conquer the sky.

I drove past there a while ago and Komot said during the planning that I could drive on the paths on the property. But that's not possible, everything is fenced in.
