Between the Schmiedhof and Steinerne Wiese road sections, the "Katzensprung" open space is part of the northern city wall ring. The main element is the oval square, which is equipped with benches and a play sculpture (cat as a counterpart to a stone's throw) and functions as a lounge, meeting point and recreational area. A perennial band, rich in seasonal aspects, limits the area of the square. A second cat can be found on the perennial bed. The small resting place was created as part of a project by the city of Schmalkalden.
