In the center of the city, just in front of the town hall you will find the Krebsdenkmal. It was built in honor of a young man called Cancer, who, according to a legend, once saved the city from conquest.

There is a legend in Moryn that says there is a giant crab chained to the bottom of the lake. When this crab breaks free and climbs onto land, all things on earth go backwards. There is a kind of monument to cancer on the town square.
