Berbling with its Holy Cross church from the mid-18th century in the style of the Rococo - the listed Bauernof, in which Leibl had lived for a time.
The painter Wilhelm Leibl lived in Berbling from 1878 to 1892. For three summers he painted the painting Three Women in the Church in the Berblinger church. Model sat Anna Staber and Maria Buchner from Berbling and Maria Vogl from Mietraching. The original is in the Hamburger Kunsthalle, a copy hangs in the Berblinger church. [Source WIKIPEDIA]

The Holy Cross Church in Berbling was built in the Rococo style after the middle of the 18th century. It belongs to the dean's office in Bad Aibling in the Archdiocese of Munich and Freising and celebrates its patronage on September 14th. The church, which is surrounded by a wall, is popularly known as the "Little Wies".
