Thundorf i.UFr. is a municipality that has consisted of three parts since 1978, namely Rothhausen with around 400 inhabitants, Theinfeld with around 200 inhabitants and Thundorf with around 500 inhabitants.
Burial mounds and finds from pre-Christian times show that our area was already inhabited around 2500 BC. Remains of a castle above the village bear witness to the castle of the Lords of Thundorf in the 12th century.
The landmark of the municipality is the moated castle with its mighty onion domes from the 15th century, which has been preserved to this day.
