The Chugach Foothills Trail is really just a connector, meant to improve trail access from East Anchorage. But it's so lovely that it's worth a look, and I'd rather go back and forth on this trail than turn it into a loop with the nearby roads. Although parts of it are not paved, the surface is hard-packed enough that all but super skinny-tired bikes can handle it.
