Pian Trevisan was the seat of the most important rear center on the Marmolada front. From here, in fact, the cableway passed which from Val Gardena, through the Sella and Canazei passes, reached the Col de Bous and finally the Eleven along the Marmolada glacier.
The Russian prisoners of war were entrusted with the construction of two paths that connected Pian Trevisan on one side with the Fedaia pass and on the other with the Gran Poz and the Marmolada.
