Located at the back of a meadow next to the Romanesque church of Santa Coloma Sasserra.
In its shadow, many generations have eaten, played and frolicked, coming to the gatherings that are held annually in honor of the Saint.
It was declared a tree of local interest in 1988.

Legend has it that around 1231, Saint Anthony of Padua traveled from Padua (Italy) to Coimbra (Portugal) riding a white horse with huge swan wings that was given to him by the archangel Saint Michael. He stopped to rest at the hermitage of Santa Coloma Sasserra, where great miracles took place under the shelter of the great Oak.
