Stöppach won the village renewal in 2004. South of Coburg, nestled in a lovely side valley of the Itz, lies the small town of Stöppach, first mentioned in documents as "Stedebach" (a place on the water) in 1317.
The village pond, the town's landmark and probably the oldest building, the community center, adorns the cover of the book "The most beautiful villages of Upper Franconia" and is an attractive motif for Franconian townscapes.
