"Among other things, it is precisely thanks to this church that the oldest document mentioning the town of "Summaripa" has been preserved: on 5 June 1059 a certain "Richardo, filius quondam Gunterius" sold the fourth part to the abbess of Caramagna of the "chapel... built in honor of Sancte Marie" and without knowing it attested to the existence of the village for the first time in history." - source Wikipedia
