History:
In the village of Gegabrasta after 1863 Russian colonists, who had a school and an old-fashioned parish, were settled by the uprising. The Russians changed the name of the area to Nikolskoye (Никольское). The church was built in 1889 for the colonists who occupied the exiled 1863. rebel homestead. in 1937 there were 885 believers in the parish, in 1945 - about 200.
