The Cross for the Defenders of Lithuanian Freedom was built in the center of Pasvalis, in front of Vytautas the Great Square, on the pavement of which Soviet occupiers used to lay the bodies of murdered partisans in the post-war years. The sculpture of a woman placed next to the cross is a symbol of a grateful Motherland. A trumpeting angel symbolizes victory.
Opening ceremonies took place in 2007. February 17 The oak monument was created by the sculptors Arūnas Grušas and Kęstutis Krasauskas, and consecrated by the pastor of Pasvalis Church, dean Algis Neverauskas.
