The Shōsō-in (Japanese 正倉院) is an old wooden building in the Azekura log cabin style[A 1], which houses the treasures of the Emperor Shōmu (701–756) and the Empress Kōmyō (701–760), but also objects from the Tempyō period. The Shōsō-in originally belonged to the Tōdai-ji in Nara (Japan) and is located on its grounds in the northwest of the Daibutsu Hall. The building is one of Japan's national treasures and a world cultural heritage site.
