The poet Saigyo is said to have lived here for three years after becoming a priest. Inside there is a statue of Saigyo.
It is primarily a souvenir and one can imagine how a mountain hermit might have lived and meditated here.
The view is also beautiful, lots of trees, mountains and valleys.
