At the end of March 2024, the “Motte”, a lookout tower modeled on a medieval hilltop castle, will be located on the 621 meter high Hirmesbühl. It is part of the Waldthurn “NaturKulturTour”, a 3.2 kilometer long nature tourism adventure trail. The tower is only six and a half meters high, but offers a great view over Waldthurn and the surrounding area. Various hands-on stations etc. will be set up around the tower.

Waldthurn. The Waldthurn NatureCultureTour continues to take shape. A so-called motte has now been erected at the highest point, at Hirmesbühl at 621 mm above sea level.
It is simply a lookout tower modeled on a medieval hilltop castle, called a motte. The idea for the entire nature tourism adventure trail “NaturKulturTour”, which is around 3.2 kilometers long, came from Josef Forster, who also implemented the corresponding designs and ideas.
