Mountainbiking
Because the Hereford cattle are so robust, they have decided to use them to maintain and manage the fallow land around Lake Zwenkau. These remaining areas of the former open-cast mine south of Leipzig are ideal for providing the cattle with extensive, year-round grazing.
They do not use any chemical fertilizers or pesticides when managing the extensively grazed areas. The animals are only fed with self-produced feed, mainly hay and grass silage. They receive the necessary minerals in the form of lick stones and bowls.

There are also information boards at the pasture explaining its use. It's a good idea to utilize the former mining lakes in this way.
