At the roundabout on the Bevrijdingsstraat in Oostham where the bicycle highway from Tessenderlo passes you will find a large mining lamp, an initiative of Frans de l'Arbre, former miner and footballer at Beringen. The work is by Ludo Noels who also made "De Brave Burger" in Oostham at the church and "De Meester" in the hamlet of Genendijk. At the corner of the point where the cycle highway reaches you will also find a monument of the miners-stretcher bearers. There is a bench for those who want to sit down.

The giant mining lamp that adorns the roundabout on the Bevrijdingsstraat in Oostham is an initiative of Frans de l'Arbre. He wanted to pay tribute to the (Hamse) miners this way. Artist Ludo Noels took care of the performance.
