The lighthouse, in addition to its own lighting and warning functions on the coast, is the headquarters of the Center d'Interpretació dels Fars de la Mediterránea (Interpretation Center for Mediterranean Lighthouses). It is one of the most recent lighthouses on the Costa Brava

Mountainbiking
The city wall with 7 towers was built in the 12th and at the beginning of the 13th century; their final, today essentially visible form took them at the end of the 14th century. Of the 7 towers, 3 are cylindrical in shape and still bear their original names: Torre des Codolar, Torre de ses Hores (Hour Tower) and Torre d'en Joanàs on a rocky cape by the sea. The four other towers are bigger.
From the built in the 16th century pirate fortress on the hill is still a watchtower (Can Magí).
