Refugio Banderillas

Refugio Banderillas consists of two shelters. The larger hut can accommodate 8 to 10 people and is equipped with two bunk beds (frames only, no mattresses), a wooden platform, a table, and chairs. The smaller, original hut can fit 3 to 4 people. Both shelters feature a fireplace, but there is no running water available. Visitors should bring their own sleeping gear and water.

The refuge is generally accessible year-round. During the summer season, a park ranger is often present in the smaller building and can provide keys to the larger refuge. For the rest of the year, the larger refuge typically remains open, with its door secured by a rope to prevent entry by livestock or other animals, allowing free access for hikers.

While the refuge itself is a free-access shelter, the Sierras de Cazorla, Segura y Las Villas Natural Park has specific regulations regarding dogs. Generally, dogs are permitted on trails but must be kept on a leash.
