The church is one of the outstanding Romanesque monuments in Brittany. It is dedicated to Saint Tudy, who worked as a Christian missionary in Brittany in the 5th century. The church was not only a parish, but also served as a collegiate monastery, which explains its outstanding architectural design, including the representative ambulatory, which was unusual for Brittany in the Romanesque architectural period.
