As a memorial to the many dead, such memorials or war memorials are still very important today. "Now, Lord, let your servant go in peace, as you said." However, the people who are commemorated here did not divorce in peace, but became victims of war and tyranny.
Many of the places you come across along the way are evidence of the horrors of war and tyranny – and this is still important today. They all have two essential functions for each new generation:
-1- Commemorate and remember the victims
-2- Remind to keep the peace

Vandring
The Croix des Amoureux in the cliff coast of the Corniche of Leskonil dates back to the Middle Ages, but today's about two meters high cross is a reconstruction from the 1990s. Legend has it that lovers who want to get engaged make their first kiss under the cross to seal their allegiance.

The Lovers' Cross dates back to the Middle Ages but was smashed by vandals in 1925 and restored by the "Bag Leskon" association in 1995.
