While the nearby
ruins of the 13th-century Gothic Hagia Sophia represent Andravida's Frankish past, the Metropolitan Cathedral is the present-day spiritual center of the Orthodox community.
Background of the Patron Saints
Constantine the Great: He was the first Roman emperor to convert to Christianity and issued the Edict of Milan in 313 AD, which guaranteed religious freedom for Christians.
Saint Helena: She is known for her piety and her pilgrimages to the Holy Land, where, according to tradition, she discovered the True Cross of Christ.
