Long pier jutting out into the Pacific to create an open channel for the Marina small boat harbor at the mouth of the Los Angeles River. A long breakwater protects the river from strong ocean waves. A wider beach has formed on the protected north side along the jetty.

At the very end of the famous Venice Beach is the Marina Del Ray North Jetty and North Jetty Light. You can walk out across the rocks (watch your footing though!), watch boats enter and exit Marina Del Ray, and take in the sweeping views of some of the most famous beaches in the world!
