The museum was planned in 1993 in the area of no longer used industrial and port facilities and was intended to provide an impetus for an urban reorganization, which has been completely successful. Completion and inauguration after an incredibly short four years in 1997.
In my opinion, the real work of art is the cover. The interior photos are from 2005 when the ban on photography was not so strict!!!

A reason to visit Bilbao. Don't even think of just passing by - take your time and visit this unique museum.

As an architect, I have been following Frank Gehry's works for 35 years. I remember that he built the conversion of his own house in a deconstructivist way. I researched the European and American architectural literature of the time, and observed his work. For me, there are two CATHEDRALs, one is the Sagrada Familia, the other is the Guggenheim Museum in Bilbao... It was one of the most beautiful moments of my life when I entered the entrance hall... I recommend it to everyone, especially to those who like extreme but elegant buildings.
