Cykling
One arm of the Dinkel flows through a culvert under the canal. The other crosses the canal and is derived through the Schuivenhuisje.
The Schuivenhuisje controls the outflow of water from the Dinkel and thus keeps the water level from the Kanaal-Almelo-Nordhorn at an even level.
This was necessary for shipping until 1960, when it was stopped.
Today the Schuivenhuisje, built in 1887, is a listed building and is still fully functional.
