Nice little castle that is used as a museum. Right next to the entrance you will find an information board about the Traisental MTB routes.

Traismauer Castle has an eventful history: it was once the Roman cavalry fort of Augustia – the stables were located in the present-day arcades. The civilian settlement stretched east of the camp. Witnesses to this period include two Roman milestones in the castle courtyard, as well as a Celtic and several Roman gravestones.
In 860, Traismauer Castle became the property of the Archbishopric of Salzburg for approximately 1,000 years. The coat of arms of Bishop Harrach in the castle courtyard also dates from this period.
