"Two sisters"
The work, like the subsequent artistic works, focuses on the motif of Goldmarie and Pitchmarie from the fairy tale “Frau Holle” by the Brothers Grimm. The two sisters were carved from a Japanese walnut tree trunk and accentuated differently. The shape of the wood determined the cut of the sculpture. Growing out of a common tribe symbolizes the dialectic of good and evil: one is only defined by the other.

When you look at the ARS-Natura artwork "Two Sisters" you can see that they are Goldmarie and Pechmarie from the Frau Holle fairy tale. The two-part tree trunk is decorated with gold drops on one side and black drops on the other side.
