The St-Caprais Chapel (Romanesque style) located in the plain to the northwest of the village, dates from the end of the 8th century. It was built in recognition of the victory of Charles Martel over the Saracens in 736 at the Sinargues plateau.
It is very likely that a small monastery was adjacent to this building and served as a home for the farming monks of that time.
