The church, a listed Roman Catholic house of worship, has been a central part of the town of Hofheim for several centuries. The first church structures there date back to the 14th century.

Architectural History:

• The Gothic chancel and tower date from the late 15th century and have been preserved to this day.

• The spire was demolished in 1923 and later rebuilt in the Neo-Baroque style.

• Between 1926 and 1927, the nave was rebuilt and enlarged (Neo-Baroque).

• The current church building, with its nave, transept, and new chancel, was constructed during this period.
