The 67,000 square meter Kaiser Friedrich Park with the hanging pond in it is one of the largest inner-city local recreation and leisure facilities in Aachen. It shapes the south of the city and, with its foothills along the Kaiser-Friedrich-Allée and the green spaces on the Scherpenberg, is directly connected to the Aachen Forest at the level of the Waldschenke. This route can be walked almost entirely through green and forest areas.
