The upper harbor canteen was built in 1925 as a so-called coffee hatch and was used to feed the harbor and shipyard workers.
It is considered an example of north German clinker expressionism. The small building was washed down so badly by storm surges that it gradually got into this picturesque inclined position.
A visit is also worthwhile because of the map. There are dishes that are almost forgotten in Hamburg. For example, I recommend the "blushing virgin". Good Appetite!
