With the support of experienced bakers, a generational change is taking place at the Schlettach Bakehouse Friends. The "youngsters" receive much praise from the "older" members.

The entire Kunzelmann family is up early. Jakob's mother, Ilka, now bears a great deal of responsibility: At the beginning of November 2021, she took over the chairmanship of the association from Rainer Schellenberger, who had been dedicated to preserving the baking tradition in the village since its founding in 2009.

The refurbishment turned the listed bakehouse into a gem again: not only the oven and chimney were renewed, but also the windows, the plaster and some of the sandstone. Ilka Kunzelmann hopes to be able to attract new and younger members to the association.
