On the initiative and funds of the municipality of Šalčininkai district, a chapel belonging to the complex of historical buildings of the Republic of Pavlov was renovated in Merkinė, near Turgelii.
During the construction works, the roof was repaired and an authentic cross was installed, based on available archival documents.
The chapel stands by the road leading to the Merkinė manor homestead, vad. Pavlov's Republic, from the north. Built in the 18th century. - 19th century pr., reconstructed several decades ago.
