Bockstal station has two platforms, so it is good for train crossings and train passing.
In addition, Bocksthal was originally a "fork station" or "junction station" for the route to Helbra.
This section of the line was dismantled after commercial operations ceased, and its re-establishment as part of the museum railway is a long-term plan.
The two tracks only meet once they have passed the signal box.
