Landevejscykling
This splendid cycle path north of Syracuse, which offers splendid views of the sea, was named in 2008 after Rossana Maiorca, a freediver from Syracuse who died in 2005. During her long career, Maiorca had many successes and world records. She was nicknamed "the Siren of Sicily" and a statue dedicated to her is found on the seabed, off the coast of the Plemmirio marine protected area.
